Typically, chat rooms are used only in enterprises and are set up by the system administrator.

4.5 Viewing the Message Archive

You can view your recent IM activity for any contact or group chat session.

Control-click a contact and choose View Message Archive.

Or go to the menu bar and choose View > Message Archive.

Select your own name to view your

group chat and chat room sessions

Select another person to view

instant messages with that person
